I choose the strong disk for the speed and didn't pay for it.
It is a laptop.
-Intel Core 2 Duo T7200
(2GHz, 4MB L2 Cache, 667MHz FSB)
(2GHz/core)
-2GB DDR2 SDRAM 667MHz 2DIMMS (Dual-Channel)
-NVIDIA GeForce 7300 Go beside TurboCache
256MB Dedicated Video RAM
-15.4" UltraSharp WideScreen WXGA+ TrueLife
-80GB 7200rpm Hard Disk
-Windows Vista Home Premium
-10/100 Network Card and Modem
-8X CD/Dual Layer DVD Burner combo
-Sound Blaster Audigy
-Intel PRO/Wireless 3945 802.11a/g MiniCard (54Mbps)
-85Whr 9 Cell Lithium Ion Battery
Are these worthy parts for gaming for $1481? Note I am no hardcore gamer...?
That's an el-cheapo notebook, NOT a gaming platform. The video card will NOT be able to play several of today's games decently. The true gaming would be more resembling this:

But not because of cpu nor vista, but because of the video card being used. Most games require the video card NOT the cpu to be the most powerful slice of the computer.
For about HALF the price, you can get hold of a desktop that will run just as quick if not faster. A few things you might want to read/look at first:
