ok, influence i have an R series sony desktop, but a different model sony laptop. my desktop crashed and i necessitate to create a back up disc to disc. can i use the CD i made near my laptop to fix my desktop?

You shouldn't need to. You should be capable of access the PC using the original install disc unless it's a come first crash ur PC suffered.

If you are thinking about restoring your PC near the Laptops restoration disc the answer is no.
The restoration disk you make for respectively computer, is, for each individual computer and its hardware components.
Their hardware components are not compatible and the BIOS is different too.
The answer is no. You can't do that without 3d paty software. I'd recommend you to use True Image Workstation.
