Anyone know what if any CPU(s) can replace a 700mhz Celeron within a Compaq Presario 5000 series?

It looks approaching you can replace it with any another Celeron processor up to 1400mhz or a Pentium III also up to 1400mhz. Any processor in that will fit the 370 socket will fit within your computer. I would check documentation or Compaq's website for more technical requriements, such as voltages, and bus speeds. If you replace the processor, you may own to re-install your operating system and any programs if it is different from your old one.
Motherboards are a bit limited as to what Processors can be

installed on them.
jump 2 compaq web site and look for support type surrounded by your model number, and download the manual. it will report to you, I think it will cart the 1 gig processor it is an infirm system
